4 Days 3 Nights In Perth Itinerary Part 2

How to get to Rottnest Island

Is the day for Ronnest Island, you probably will need about slightly half a day to spend on Rottnest Island. What is special in Perth is the Quokka Selfie.

Simply book ferry, about 45 mins ride to reach Rottnest Island. There are 2 ferry operatorsRottnest Express and Rottnest Fast Ferries, and ferries depart from Perth City, North Fremantle (Rous Head), Fremantle (Victoria Quay) and Hillary’s Boat Harbour in north Perth.  We had our car parked at the Fremantle and it cost $10 AUD a day, we head over to B shred to board the Ferry. Simply book your ferry tickets online. Many do spend one night over at Rottnest Isand. While for us, we just spend slighltly half a day. We depart to Rottnest Isand at 8am and left at about 3pm.

Rottnest Island

Recommend you to rent bicycle to explore Rottnest Island, we try walking and we ended up renting bicycle after going half way to and fro. It cost $30 to rent bicycle. Alternative, you can get the hop-on and hop-off bus that operate around the island. 1 day adult pass cost 20AUD and 15AUD for child.

The moment we reach Rottnest Isalnd, we grab a bite at Dome, and we were welcome by the good cooling weather while sun still shining up high. Plenty of wild Quokkas roaming around. They simply looks like hybrid version of rats and kangaroo.

You can only get to see Quokka in Perth, and the Quokka Selfie is a very IN thing to do. Try to get they smile with the teething tooth out. Is cute.

There is also amazing of the mother and child just like kangaoo in the mum’s bag.

Other than Quokkas, there are beautiful beaches to look out for. The Basin is where you can snorkel, so do bring along swim suit. It was rather cold so we played with water and gave up the snorkel idea. They have Pink lake too. For ladies, if you are going there, bear in mind, sunblock is a MUST! Reapply and apply every 2-3 hours. I got plenty freckles popping after this trip.
